Abstract: In order to meet the performance requirements of 7075 aluminum alloy coated sheet T6 aging for large aircraft skin. In this paper, the homo-genization effect and the effect of single stage aging process on the mechanical properties of 7075 thin plate were studied by means of room temperature tensile test, OM and SEM. The results showed that Fe - containing phase remained and eutectic structure was basically eliminated after homogenization. After hot rolling, cold rolling to 2.5 mm and then solution treatment, the grains of the plate were elongated and the recrystallization degree reached 80%. The single-stage aging results show, that with the increase of aging time, the tensile strength and yield strength in the L and LT directions of 7075 thin plate increase continuously, while the elongation decreases. At 121 ℃/36 h, the T6 state aging system of 7075 thin plate is selected. At this time, the tensile strength in the L and LT directions are 531 MPa and 520.5 MPa, respectively; the yield strength is 448.5 MPa and 440.5 MPa, and the elongation is 15.5% and 14.8%, respectively.
