Abstract: In this work, the quantitative characterization method of the apparent properties of cement products is designed. The influences of the content of mineral admixture on the surface pore size distribution, surface hardness and smoothness are studied. The relationship of surface hardness, smoothness and micro morphology of surfaces is established. The results show that when the fly ash content exceeds 30% of the cementitious material, the large pores on the surface of cement products can be reduced, but micro defects on the surface will be produced and the surface hardness and surface smoothness will decrease. The increase of mineral powder content is conducive to refining the surface pores, pus-hing the surfaces dense and improving the surface hardness and smoothness.
