Preparation and Research Progress of PVC-based Electromagnetic Shielding Composites

Abstract: With the development of wireless communication technology, high density electromagnetic radiation has become a new pollution source in people's life. The development and application of electromagnetic shielding materials have become a hot research topic because of people's attention to electromagnetic pollution. Polyvinyl chloride(PVC)-based composites are composed of PVC matrix and functional fillers (electrically conductive, magnetic or dielectric materials), which have gotten great attention and have important application prospects in the field of electromagnetic shielding due to many advantages, including low density, easy processing, low price and corrosion resistance. Based on the electromagnetic shielding mechanism, properties and main synthesis strategies of PVC-based composites, this paper summarizes the research of electromagnetic shielding of PVC-based composites in recent years and provides an insight into future challenges and guidelines for PVC-based composites application.
