Dispersibility of Silica-loaded Antioxidant in Natural Rubber and Its Anti-aging Function

Abstract: Antioxidant 4-[(4,6-dioctyl-1,3,5-triazine-2-yl) amino]-2,6-di-tert-butylphenol (antioxidant 565) was loaded on the surface of SiO2(SiO2-565) or SiO2 modified by NDZ-311w (SiO2-N-565) to prepare silica-loaded antioxidant/natural rubber composites. In addition, the disper-sibility of anti-aging SiO2 in natural rubber matrix and its effect on thermal-oxidative aging resistance of natural rubber composites were also stu-died. The results showed that the silica modified by NDZ-311w was evenly dispersed in the rubber matrix, and the aging resistance of natural rubber increased significantly. When the thermal oxidative aging time was three days, the change rate of elongation at break and tensile strength of SiO2-N-565/NR were 44.36% and 48.26%, respectively, which was much lower than that of unmodified rubber (77.51%, 84.35%).
