Abstract: Layer-by-layer self-assembly (LBL) is a method of layer by layer alternating deposition. According to the weak interactions between the layer of molecules, the layers spontaneously joined together to form a molecular aggregate or supramolecular structure which has a complete structure and stable performance. Tissue engineering is called "regenerative medicine", which refers to the technology of reconstructing or repairing organs and tissues by means of bioactive substances and in vitro culture or construction. It mainly includes four aspects: new biomaterials, cell sources, signal factors and biological manufacturing methods. The aim is to manufacture functional tissues for use in regenerative medicine and drug testing. In this paper, the research progress of layer-by-layer self-assembly in tissue engineering is reviewed.
