Research on Hybrid Welding Technique Based on Plasma and MIG of Titanium Alloy |

Abstract The plasma and MIG composite welding process of TA2 plate was studied. Through the high-speed photography technology, the morphology of the molten pool was observed under the test parameters. The molten pool is mainly the jet transition and the droplet transition. The microstructure, mechanical properties and technological properties of the joint were tested. The results show that plasma and MIG composite welding joint has no obvious defects in microstructure. Compared with the base metal, the tensile strength of the weld decreases slightly, but it meets the relevant standards of the base metal; process performance is good; compared with the base metal, the effect of weld impact absorption is reduced slightly. The plasma and MIG welding has good prospects for application on TA2.
