Abstract Raman spectroscopy and29Si NMR spectroscopy were used to study the network structure of three different types of glass used in LCD, including cover glass, ITO glass and substrate glass. The vibration ratio of bridging oxygen and non bridging oxygen in the spectra was mainly compared to obtain the tightness information of the glass network. The results showed that the tightness of ITO glass network was the lowest, while the structure of the substrate glass was the densest and the cover glass was between them. The relationship of structural tightness was reflected in the difference of glass performances. The substrate glass showed the highest strain point, annealing point and softening point, and the corresponding float forming point was also the highest, while the index of ITO glass was the lowest.
