Abstract As an important basic material, epoxy resin has been widely used in composite materials, anticorrosive coatings and electronic packaging materials. Two-dimensional nanomaterials have become one of the research hotspots in recent years due to their unique properties. The mechanical properties of the epoxy can not only be improved, but also the excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, electrical insulation and flame retardant of the epoxy resin/two-dimensional nanomaterial composites are obtained. In this paper, the modification of epoxy resin by two-dimensional nanomaterials, such as graphene and graphene oxide, boron nitride, metal organic framework compounds, MXene and layered bimetallic hydroxides, which have been widely studied in recent years, are systematically reviewed, and the future development prospect and other potential applications of epoxy resin are also prospected.

About author:: Jiulong Chen, postgraduate student in materials science and engineering at the Research Institute of Frontier Science, Beihang University. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from the Sichuan University Pittsburgh Institute.
Shuang Wang, Ph.D. student in materials science at the College of Biomass Science and Engineering, Sichuan University. Currently mainly engaged in flexible electronic materials and devices.
Xiaosheng Du, Ph.D. of engineering. In 2011, 2014 and 2017, he obtained his bachelor’s, master’s and doctor’s degrees from the College of Polymer Science and Engineering, Sichuan University. In July 2017, entered College of Polymer Science and Engineering, Sichuan University to engage in teaching and research work. In recent years, he has presided over a number of scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Key Research and Development Projects of Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Department, and the Research Fund of Sichuan University. As the first author and corresponding author, he has published more than 20 SCI papers in international well-known journals such as J. Mater. Chem. A, Chem. Eng. J., ACS Appl. Mater. Inter. Among them, there were 8 articles in the first district of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 4 with single impact factors exceeding 10, and 3 national invention patents were applied for and authorized. His research interests include the design, synthesis and application of functional polymer materials, photothermal conversion materials and phase change energy storage materials.
