焊后热处理对高氧TC4/TC17钛合金线性摩擦焊接头组织及性能的影响

Abstract In this paper, linear friction welded (LFW) joints of hyperoxic TC4/TC17 dissimilar titanium alloys were subjected to post weld heat treatment (PWHT). The effect of PWHT processing parameters on the microstructure,micro-hardness and fracture toughness of the linear friction welded joints for dissimilar titanium was investigated. The results showed that the metastable β phase was formed on the side of TC17 weld zone of the linear friction welded joints of dissimilar titanium alloys, and the acicular martensite phase was found on the side of hyperoxic TC4 as weld condition. After PWHT, the lath α phase was precipitated at β grain boundary, while the acicular α phase within the β grain, and the residual α phase in the joint region was decomposed during the heat treatment. With the increase of temperature of heat treatment, the size of the precipitation of lath and acicular α phase significantly enlarged, simultaneously, the micro-hardness of the joint enhanced. The results of crack tip opening displacement (CTOD) showed that the weak zone of the joint fracture toughness is in the weld zone and the thermo-mechanically affected zone of TC17 side. The increase of the post-weld heat treatment temperature can effectively improve the fracture toughness of the weak zones.

Ju Li, a senior engineer, received her M.S. degree in Materials Processing Engineering from AVIC Beijing Aeronautical Manufacturing Technology Research Institute in January 2009. Since then, she has been on the division for Aero-Engine processes at AVIC Beijing Aeronautical Manufacturing Technology Research Institute and focused on the research of linear friction welding technology. In the meantime, she led or participated in a series of programs, including Aeronautic Fund Projects, National Defense Basic Scientific Research, and Civil Aircraft Research. The research findings have been published with more than 10 papers.
