Effect of Temperature on Formability of Fine-grained ZK60 Magnesium Alloy Sheet |

Abstract Effect of temperature on formability of fine-grained ZK60 magnesium alloy sheet was investigated in this paper. The stretch formability and tensile flow anisotropy were examined by tensile test, combined by cupping test and drawing test. The results showed that the anisotropy of mechanical properties of the ZK60 alloy sheet became weaker with increasing temperature and the elongations obtained at 300 ℃ were more than 341%. Higher temperature helps to improve the formability. Both of the maximum Erichsen value (IE=18.7 mm) and the limit drawing ratio (LDR=1.8) were obtained at 250 ℃. The optimum temperature ranges of cupping test and drawing test of the ZK60 fine-grained alloy sheet were 200—250 ℃ and 250—300 ℃, respectively.
