Abstract In recent years, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have garnered significant attention as a potential mainstream technology in the future photovoltaic (PV) market. This is primarily attributed to their salient advantages including high efficiency, low cost, and ease of preparation. Notably, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of PSCs has experienced a remarkable increase from 3.8% in 2009 to over 26% at present. Consequently, the adoption of roll-to-roll (R2R) technology for PSCs is considered a crucial step towards their successful commercialization. This article reviews the diverse substrates, scalable deposition techniques (such as solution-based knife-coating and spraying technology), and optimization procedures employed in recent years to enhance device performance within the R2R process. Additionally, novel perspectives are presented to enrich the existing knowledge in this field.

*Luo Ni, holds a Ph.D. in Engineering. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the Department of Applied Chemistry at Hunan University of Technology in 2014, and completed his Ph.D. in Material Physics and Chemistry from the Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Ningbo Institute of Northwestern Polytechnical University. His research focuses on perovskite solar cells, electronic pastes, and luminescent materials.luoni0515@163.com;Professor Liu Zhenguo studied Polymer Science at the School of Chemistry and Mole-cular Engineering, Peking University, from 1988 to 1995, where he was mentored by Mr. Qiu Kunyuan, the pioneer of free radical polymerization in China, and Mr. Cao Weixiao, a pioneer in photosensitive polymer materials for laser phototypesetting. In 1995, he received a full scholarship to study abroad at the presti-gious Georgia Institute of Technology in the United States, where he worked under the gui-dance of Professor Chuck Eckert, a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and recipient of the U.S. Presidential Award, and Professor Charles Liotta, former Provost of Georgia Tech and also a U.S. Presidential Award recipient. Liu earned dual Ph.D. degrees in Organic Chemistry and Polymer Engineering in 2000. After completing his doctoral studies, Liu Zhiguo worked at two of the world's leading chemical material companies, DuPont and BASF, in the United States, holding various positions such as Assistant Researcher, Senior Researcher, Project Manager, R&D Manager, and R&D Director. Over the past 20 years, Professor Liu has focused on the frontier science, applied research, and product development of organic polymer materials. His main research areas include the synthesis of functional re-sin molecules, formulation optimization, specialty polymer film materials, and the development and application of high-performance polymer composites.
