Mix Design and Performance Study of Interlocking Asphalt Stabilized Macadam |

Abstract In order to improve the asphalt stabilized macadam flexible base due to insufficient strength in the use process prone to rutting, bed load and other diseases, in this work, Bailey method and variable i method were used to redesign the gradation range of traditional asphalt stabilized macadam, and the gradation range of interlocking asphalt stabilized macadam ( ATSM ) was proposed. At the same time, the traditional ATB asphalt stabilized macadam was set as the control group, and the high temperature stability, low temperature crack resistance, water stability and dynamic compression modulus of asphalt mixture were studied. Based on the test data, the finite element models of two pavement structures were established to analyze the mechanical response. The results show that the road performance and mechanical indexes of ATSM asphalt stabilized macadam are better than those of traditional ATB asphalt stabilized macadam.
