Research on Resistance Spot Welding Technology of Aluminium Alloy-Low Carbon Steel Dissimilar Metal |

Abstract The MD-40KA intermediate frequency inverter spot welding machine was used to study the resistance spot welding technology of 5083 aluminum alloy and Q235 low carbon steel with thickness of 1.5 mm. The method of controlling variables was used to study the effects of welding current, energization time and electrode pressure on mechanical properties to determine the range of welding parameters, and then orthogonal test was used to optimize the welding process parameters, meanwhile the mechanical properties of the welded joints were inspected. The results show that: when the welding current, energization time and electrode pressure are 11.5 kA, 350 ms and 0.22 MPa,welded joints with excellent mechanical properties can be obtained and the tensile shear force can reach 4.7 kN.
