Effect of Rare Earth Active Agent on Laser Welding Joint of TC4 Titanium Alloy |

Abstract The effect of soil flux on the microstructure and properties of laser welding 5 mm thick TC4 titanium alloy was studied. The mechanism of increasing penetration depth was discussed. Under the optical microscope and gauge was found to fit the microstructure characteristics. The results showed that the rare-earth activator can effectively improve the TC4 alloy, and the increase of rare-earth surfactant could be the result of many reasons together, rather than a single inhibitory to reported results from the body,such as agent of rare earth used in laser welding,can be slightly refined β-Ti organization. In two kinds of welding process, the microhardness distribution showed that the rare earth active agent can improve the union of metal intercourse ability.
