Preparation and Characterization of Sericin/Hydroxyapatite/PolycaprolactoneComposite Scaffold Materials |

Abstract Based on good performance in the application of biomaterial, sericin, hydroxyapatite and polycaprolactone were used to prepare a new type of tissue engineering material via twice lyophilisation. In the experiment, the physical and chemical properties of sericin/hydroxyapatite/polycarprolactone composite scaffold material were studied first; then the morphology of this material was investigated; finally, biocompatibility of this material was evaluated. The results show that the composites have good forming effect, uniform pore distribution and porosity of more than 50%, and the sericin molecules exhibit β-sheet structure. With the increasing proportion of PCL in the composite scaffold material, the thermal decomposition temperature of the material increase, its performance improved, the elastic modulus of the material gradually increased, indicating PCL has played a role in enhancing the rigidity of the stent material. Cytotoxicity test results show that cells grow well, the composite material is non-toxic and harmless.
