Abstract Cu-based bulk glassy alloys have attracted more attention, due to its high conductivity and corrosion resistance, as well as excellent mechanical and physical properties. This paper reviews the improvement methods and research progress of Cu-based bulk glassy alloys, and emphasizes the effects of alloying elements on its physical and chemical properties. Finally, the development prospects of Cu-based bulk glassy alloys are forecasted.

About author:: Aihua Chen graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University with bachelor’s degree in business administration and acquire the title of Senior Economist. From 2006 to 2009, he served as the director of Zhongtian Hitachi Optical Cable Co., Ltd. from 2009 to 2014 as the deputy general manager of Zhongtian Sea Cable Co., Ltd. and from 2014 to now as the general manager of Zhongtian Alloy Technology Co., Ltd. and from 2017 as the general manager of Jiangdong Alloy Technology Co., Ltd. He has won the second prize of China Machinery Industry Science, Technology Award and the third prize of Jiangsu Science and Technology Progress Award, Gold Award of International Invention Exhibition, Excellent Patent Award of Jiangsu Province, Third Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress of Nantong City, and Advanced Individual of Rudong County, etc. In addition, he had undertook two 863 projects of the National High-tech Research and Development Plan in 2011—2015. At present, he is mainly engaged in the production and R&D of high-end products such as cables, submarine cables and communication cables, high-performance copper alloy products, etc. He have published 5 journal papers and obtained 32 national patents, including 3 invention patents and 29 utility model patents.
Pengju Wang received his M.E.degree from Hohai Unversity in material science and acquire the title of engineering. From 2015 to 2019, he successively held the positions of copper platoon process engineer, winding workshop director and copper and copper alloy product development engineer of Zhongtian Alloy Technology Co., Ltd. He has published 8 journal papers and 9 national patents, including 5 invention patents and 4 utility model patents.
