Modification of Aqueous Acrylic Resin by End-vinyl Siloxane |

Abstract Traditional solvent-based coating cause many environmental pollution problems, so it is necessary to develop new coatings with low VOC emission. Water-based acrylic resin is better environmental protection coating, because of the defects existing in acrylic resin, the preparation of waterborne need modification at the same time. Organic silicon has good performance of high and low temperature, good hydrophobicity and crosslinking, so water-based acrylic resin modified by organic silicon can make them get more excellent performance. In this work, KH570 containing vinyl siloxane was introduced into the main chain of acrylic acid to obtain modified resin, bibulous rate of the modified resin was reduced significantly, contact angle increased by 13.51°, particle size increased to 154.12 nm, maximum decomposition temperature increased to 424.25 ℃, respectively. Electrochemical analysis showed that KH570 has better corrosion resistance, and it has a lower gel rate when its content is 5%.
