Abstract Using a linear polarization resistance method (LPR) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method (EIS), the self corrosion potential (Ecorr), polarization resistance (R_p), corrosion current density (Icorr), corrosion rate (Vcorr) and charge transfer resistance (Rct) of rebars were calculated. Anti-corrosion performances of different types of steel in CASC were studied, the effective anti-corrosion methods for CASC were suggested. The results showed that, for different types of steel in CASC, the R_p and Rct decreased with the extension of exposure time, Icorr increased with the extension of exposure time. The corrosion resistance of different types of steel followed the rule: 2205 duplex stainless steel > 316 stainless steel > new organic coated steel > zinc-chromium coated steel > common steel. Therefore, comprehensive consideration of the effect of anti-corrosion and cost, for CASC structure in the marine reef engineering, it was suggested to use new organic coated steel and calcium nitrate inhibitor, the concrete cover thickness is more than 5.5 cm, the concrete strength grade is more than C50, which could prolong the initial stage of steel corrosion, reduce the corrosion rate and prolong the service life of the structure.
