Abstract In the future, high-tech local wars will require more rapid, mobile and flexible ground fires especially rapid deployment of equipment around the world. While reducing the weight of the structure, it is most effective way to choose lightweight materials to replace current steel work pieces. Because of its many excellent properties, titanium alloys have become the material of choice for armored structural parts in recent years. The current status of the application of titanium alloys in the field of armor both home and abroad and the technical bottlenecks that impede the application in this field has been summarized. And finally, the own ideas and suggestions have been put forward according to the current status of domestic armored titanium alloy applications.

About author:: Fang Hao, senior engineer, is a doctoral candidate of Northwestern Polytechnical University. Received her master's degree in metallurgy engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) in 2011 and then worked at Western Superconducting Materials Technology Co., Ltd., she has been engaged in research work on rare metal processing, mainly studying the relationship between titanium alloy composition, microstructure and performance. As the person in charge or the backbone of the project, she has participated in many scientific research projects from State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence, Equipment Development Department of PRC and Science and technology co-ordination project etc. Complete technology transformation and obtain practical application. Published more than 10 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals, applied for 6 national invention patents, including 3 authorized, and the research results won the Shaanxi Science and Technology Award.
