Fracture Failure Analysis of Connecting Rod End Bearing of Ground Switch in750 kV Substation |

Abstract Macroscopical analysis,element analysis, brinell hardness test,metallographic analysis, SEM and EDS were used to analyze the fracture causes of connecting rod end bearing of ground switch.The results show that: the internal cause of fracture of rod-end bearing is its poor comprehensive mechanical properties, the first tooth of the thread, which is located in the stress concentration, is the external structure cause of the fracture, the above factors lead to brittle fracture failure of rod end bearing.

About author:: Lifeng Zhang received his M.E. degree in materials science from Shanghai Jiao Tong University(SJTU) in Mar. 2007. He was appointed to State Grid Shaanxi Electric Power Research Institute upon graduation, and is currently senior engineer. He has published more than 10 journal papers as the first author. His research inte-rests focus on failure analysis and performance study of power plant and grid materials. Jiang Duan obtained his M.E. degree in thermal engineering from Xi’an Jiao tong University(XJTU) in Jul. 1994. He is currently senior engineer. He has published many journal papers. She has published more than 200 journal papers, applied 22 national invention patents and 14 of them were authorized. His research interests focus on test and research work on combustion, commissioning and performance assessment of utility boiler. |
