Abstract This paper focuses on the research achievements of our laboratory in the last 20 years in the field of long-persistent luminescence materials. Starting from the key issues of long persistent luminescence materials, this paper makes a detailed analysis and summary of the matrix selection of materials, the exploration methods of doping and solid solution, the discussion on the mechanism of material lasting glow, and the extended research on special lasting glow phenomena. The future research direction of long-persistent luminescence materials has also been prospected.
