Abstract Using Ziegler-Natta 1 imported catalyst in the Spheripol pilot plant, a series of ethylene/propylene/1-butene tertiary random impact polypropylene copolymers (EPBC) were prepared by varying the ethylene injection amount in the gas-phase fluidised bed reactor and replacing single propylene with ethylene, propylene and 1-butene in the ring-tube reactor. The effects of the ethylene injection amount in the gas-phase flui-dised bed reactor on the structure and properties of EPBC were investigated by FTIR, TREF, ubbelohde, GPC, DSC, WAXD and SEM, et al. The results show that with the increase of ethylene injection amount in the gas phase fluidised bed reactor, impact resistance of the obtained EPBC samples gradually increased, and the maximum brief beam impact strength of the sample was 21.02 kJ/m² at the ethylene injection amount of 9.0 kg/h.
