Study on Failure Mode of Domestic T800 Carbon Fiber Composite Laminates with Double Holes |

Abstract The failure modes of notched composite laminates are related to the number and position of holes. Domestic T800 carbon fiber composite la-minates with different double holes arrangement (transverse holes, vertical holes and oblique holes) were studied to explore the failure modes of double-notched composite laminates. The displacement, strain and thickness reduction field of the composite laminates under three different double-hole arrangements were obtained from processed images of the camera through digital image correlation method (DIC). Combined with the above three results, the corresponding failure modes were analyzed based on the damaged morphology after tensile fracture. The results show that the main failure mode of transverse hole specimens is layered fracture without cracks between holes; the main failure modes of the other two specimens are the hole edge fracture dislocation with serious cracks between holes.
