Abstract With benzidine as the starting material, a compound (M1) containing two functional isocyanide groups was successfully prepared via Hofmann method, and a polyisocyanide derivative (P1), which with a crosslinked structure was successfully prepared via Ni2+-catalyzed po-lymerization. Electrochemical detection of nitrite (NO2-) was achieved by utilizing P1-modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) as the working electrode. Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) current signals displayed linear relationship to [NO2-] within the concentration of 0.5 to 200 μmol/L, and the corresponding detection limit reached ~ 0.47 μmol/L (3σ/k). Further analysis proves that P1 has specific selectivity and excellent anti-interference for the detection of NO2-.
