Abstract For revealing the damage constitutive relation of saturated fine-grained sandstone under the effect of different pore water pressure, based on damage mechanics and probability statistics method, through the principle of effective stress in pore water pressure, the MC strength crite-rion assumes that micro strength obey the lognormal distribution, based on statistical damage constitutive model theory of saturated fine-grained sandstone. By fitting and modifying the relationship between the statistical damage model parameters F₀ and S₀ and pore water pressure, a constitutive model that can more objectively reflect the damage state of saturated fine-grained sandstone was constructed. Theory and experiment comparison study shows that the established model has certain reliability and on this basis, study the F₀, S₀ statistical damage model parameters for the influence of the physical characteristics of saturated fine-grained sandstone, discusses the saturated fine-grained sandstone under different confining pressure and different damage evolution law of pore water pressure, for practical engineering case, the saturated fine-grained sandstone damage change provides a reference basis.

Taorui Zengis a postgraduate student at Chongqing Jiaotong University and is major in geotechnical engineering. He is mainly engaged in the study of the mechanism of geotechnical engineering diseases.
Qineng Weng,Ph.D., professor, master tutor, gra-duated from Tongji University, majoring in structural engineering, and visiting scholar, University of Applied Technology and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria (2007). The main research fields are: tunnel and underground engineering construction, maintenance technology, concrete materials and structural properties.
