Abstract Polymer-based solid-state electrolytes are often limited by high interfacial resistance between heterogeneous phases and the local aggregation of inorganic fillers, both of which severely suppress ionic conductivity and restrict their practical application in solid-state lithium metal batte-ries. To overcome these obstacles, we propose a facile and economical strategy to synthesize titanium dioxide nanosheets (TO-NS) as functional fillers. These nanosheets effectively alleviate polarization effects within both the bulk and interfacial regions of the electrolyte, while simultaneously providing continuous Li+ transport pathways that enhance ionic conductivity. Incorporation of TO-NS into a poly (vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) matrix yielded composite solid-state electrolytes, which were systematically characterized to elucidate the influence and mechanism of the nanosheets on electrochemical behavior. The strong interaction between TO-NS and the PVDF-HFP host polymer was found to facilitate rapid lithium-ion migration, leading to outstanding electrochemical performance. The optimized composite electrolyte achieved an ionic conductivity of 7.75 × 10-4 S·cm-1. A Li‖Li symmetric cell assembled with this electrolyte exhibited stable cycling for over 1 300 h at 0.2 mA·cm-2 without noticeable interfacial degradation. Furthermore, a LiFePO4‖PVDF-HFP/LiTFSI/1% TO-NS‖Li full cell maintained a high discharge capacity of 140.6 mAh·g-1 after 200 cycles, with a coulombic efficiency of 99.9% and a capacity retention of 89.2%. These results underscore the potential of TO-NS-modified polymer electrolytes as high-performance candidates for next-generation solid-state lithium batteries.
