Abstract Heterojunction solar cells have become a hot spot in current solar cell technology development due to their advantages, such as low proces-sing temperature, simple manufacturing process, and high photoelectric conversion efficiency. The conductive paste is a critical component that directly determines the photoelectric conversion efficiency of heterojunction solar cells. Consequently, the development of high-performance, low-cost pastes is of paramount economic importance. In this work, chemically synthesized silver powder and silver-coated copper powder were selected to prepare low-temperature silver paste and silver-copper paste for heterojunction solar cells. The research investigated the influence of different types and formulations of conductive powders on the contact resistivity and line resistance of the conductive pastes. The experimental results revealed that the optimal performance was achieved with a formulation consisting of 32.5% nano spherical silver powder (average particle size 0.4 μm) and 60% flake silver powder (average particle size 3.02 μm) in the silver paste. This optimized composition demonstrated the best line resistance and contact resistivity, measuring 1.16 Ω·cm and 1.10 mΩ·cm2, respectively. In addition, a silver-copper conductive paste featuring a total silver content of 33% was prepared in this research by combining spherical silver-coated copper powder (18% silver coverage, 3.46 μm in average size) and nano spherical silver powder (0.4 μm in average size). Through optimization of the ratio between the silver powder and silver-coated copper powder, the resulting paste exhibited excellent low-temperature rapid curing characteristics and electrical performance comparable to that of pure silver pastes. The optimal mass ratio was determined to be 20% nano spherical silver powder and 72.5% silver-coated copper powder. With this formulation, the paste achieved a line resistance of 1.41 Ω·cm and a contact resistivity of 1.74 mΩ·cm2.
