Synthesis and Optical Properties of a Novel Rhenium(Ⅰ) Complex Containing Three Carbonyl Groups and Hetero-metal Element |

Abstract In this paper, a novel rhenium (Ⅰ) complex (2) containing three carbonyl groups and another metal element,along with its precursor complex (1), were synthesized by the sequential reactions of bipyridyl polysulfide ligand (Ⅲ) with Ni(dbbpy)Cl2 (dbbpy=4,4′-di-tert-butyl-2,2′-bipyridine) and Re(CO)5Cl.1H NMR, IR, MS and elemental analysis were employed to characte-rize the molecular structures of 1 and 2, and moreover, their crystallographic structures and optical properties were also investigated. Both 1 and 2 in CH2Cl2exhibit significant responses in the wavelength range of 250—305 nm with the molar extinction coefficients at 104 level, but no fluorescence was observed. Finally we discussed the ground orbital energy of 1 and 2 via the density functional theory (DFT).
