Influence of Multiple Repair Welding on Properties of 304 Stainless Steel Welded Joint |

Abstract 304 stainless steel welded joints have good mechanical properties. Some joints with welding defects can be repaired by repair welding or multiple repair welding, but different repair welding times will affect the mechanical properties of 304 stainless steel welded joints. In this work, the mechanical properties of 304 stainless steel welded joints repaired for many times has been analyzed by tensile, bending and impact tests, and metallographic structure and fracture SEM technologies. The results showed that the mechanical properties and elongation of the repair welding area decreased gradually with the increase of repair welding times. The test pieces were ductile fracture, of which the primary repair wel-ding interface fracture was near the fusion line and the secondary repair welding interface fracture was in the heat affected zone.
