Abstract This article systematically introduces the definition and sources of microfibers, and factors of microfibers falling off from textile fabrics. The existence of microfibers not only affects the living environment of natural organisms, but also affects the life health of living beings. More seriously, microfibers can also harm human health. The existing prevention measures for microfiber pollution cannot achieve the purpose of completely controlling the release of microfibers. And there is an urgent need to strengthen improvement measures in this regard, or develop new technologies.
