| Preparation and Properties of Viscosity-reducing Polycarboxylic Acid Water Reducer |

Abstract In order to solve the problems of high viscosity and slow flow rate of high strength concrete, using isoprene alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, so-dium methallyl sulfonate, maleic anhydride, methacrylic acid and acrylic acid as raw materials, a viscosity-reducing polycarboxylic acid water reducer M44 was synthesized. The effects of acid-ether ratio, reaction temperature, sodium methallyl sulfonate and the amount of initiator on the properties of M44 were investigated. The molecular structure of M44 was characterized by IR and NMR. The viscosity-reducing properties of M44 were evaluated by T500 and empty time. The experimental results show that when the acid-ether ratio is 4, the mass ratio of methacrylic acid to maleic anhydride is 1∶1, the amount of sodium methallyl sulfonate and initiator are 0.25% and 0.15% of the mass of polyether, respectively, the synthesized product has the best water-reducing and viscosity-reducing properties without affecting the compressive strength of the concrete.

He won 1 first prize and 2 second prizes of Huaxia Construction Science and Technology and 1
second prize of Guangdong Civil Architecture Association. One monograph (co-author) was completed, and more than 40 academic papers were published.
