| Preparation of Eun+x∶SiO2 Thin Film by Sol-gel Method and Its Property |

Abstract Eu doping SiO2 (Eun+x∶SiO2) thin films were prepared by sol-gel method, and the molar ratio of Eu to SiO2 were 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% respectively. The structure and properties of the films were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), microscopic Vickers hardness tester, universal testing machine and contact angle measuring instrument. The results show that the Eu doping can make the film easier to crystallize, and it can improve the sample transmittance significantly, improve the bending strength of the sample and raise its hardness. Eu doping can also further improve the hydrophilic of the film. However, excessive Eu doping (the molar ratio of Eu to SiO2 is greater than 10%) can have an adverse effect on the film.

| About author:: Haifeng Wang obtained her Ph.D. degree from Donghua University (DHU) in Sep. 2002—Mar. 2006, did the Postdoctoral research in 2006—2008 and served in School of Materials of Science and Engineering, DHU till now. She is currently associate professor and master supervisor. She went the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2013.2—2014.2 as visiting scholar. Her research interests focus on inorganic non-metallic materials, advanced glass materials and composite dielectric material. She has published more than dozens journal papers as the first author, applied more than 10 national invention patents and 5 of them were authorized. |
